Comes A Horseman

So I’m reading a christian novel, something I rarley do because in my experience they usually turn out to be sappy western romances.  Nevertheless this book, “Comes a Horseman” is actually quite entertaining.  It’s the story of two F.B.I. agents who are investigating a spree killer hitting the Rocky Mountain Region… his calling card decapitation and highly trained wolf-hybrid dogs.  Naturally, as the title implies there are also touches of an impending apocalypse or at least the threat of a man so demented that he believes himself to be the AntiChrist and has orchestrated his life in such a way so others believe it as well.

I wouldn’t call it great literature but I have really enjoyed it. It is fast-paced (which I love) and interesting for although the topic has been a bit over done at late, there are a few fresh and evocative ideas churning amogst it’s pages.

So, if you like thriller detectivey type book and are looking to read some christian fiction, give it a shot.

I’ll post more thoughts when I have finished the book.  I am of the opinion that the ending of a book is just as important as the beginning so how this thing turns out will geatly influence my overall opinion of the story and indeed of the author.

P.S. By the way the 1st and 3rd chapters are pretty gorey so if your sensitive to that sort of thing beware.
